Story
We are fundraising money to donate to 'Epilepsy Bereaved' in memory of Ella Hughes who passed away in March 2012, aged just 17 due to an epileptic seizure.
We held a charity day at Ysgol Aberconwy on Friday the 11th of May with various fundraising activities being carried out during the day including a non-school uniform day, fancy dress for sixth formers and a cake sale amongst other things, we raised over £1,000 on the day alone, but are hoping to continue to collect donations.
On Saturday the 2nd of June, nearly 80 of Ella's family and friends walked from Colwyn Bay Pier to Happy Valley, Llandudno, the entry and sponsorship money will pay for a memorial to Ella but the money collected in buckets from the general public along the way, totally £25 was donated to Epilepsy Bereaved.
Over £1,000 was raised to be used to purchase the memorial meaning over £2,500 has so far been raised in Ella's memory.
Our next event is a 'swishing' party! “Swishing is a growing trend, where a gaggle of fashion-loving women get together, feast on nibbles, guzzle wine and swap their clothes.” It will be held on Saturday the 14th of July at 7.30p.m, Ty Llywelyn Community Centre Llandudno, it will be £5 to enter. All money raised will go towards our memorial fund. Everyone must bring at least one item of quality clothing with them in order to ‘swish‘. Please bring all your friends!
