Story
Hi I’m Ellen
Call me ‘mad’ or ‘eccentric’, its okay my kids do all the time! Running the London Marathon is just one of those things I’ve wanted to do for years, but not got around to it. At the age of 55, I realised that I now need to do so before it’s too late and I lose the chance to ‘tick another box’ of life – I’ll not tell you what the other boxes are? Except to see Bruce Springsteen ‘live’, which I also plan to do this year too!
I feel very privileged and lucky to be able to do the run for ‘Round Table Children’s Wish’ as I love children (well... most of them) and want what is best for them and most importantly for them to be happy children. Sadly, that is not always possible, so we wish for them to experience some happiness at least, which the charity strives to do. I’d like to thank all my friends and family who have supported me (including my personal trainer Mr Luckhurst) in moving towards achieving my goal and for their generous donations, which undoubtedly will keep me going on the day! Many, many, thanks Ellen x.

Hello My name is Tony Luckhurst and I am about to complete my 13th. LondonMarathon
I took early retirement from my post as a paramedic some three years ago and amongst other part-time jobs, I am now training to be a fitness instructor at a local gymnasium.
I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in this year’s marathon; so I am able to support Ellen in her fund raising.
I was surprised when Ellen first said that she wanted to run a marathon. I knew she could walk the distance as we have done so several times over the years.
She has done well with her training so far and has already completed several 10k and half marathon races. I know that with her determination she will run a good marathon; in fact I am secretly scared that she may get a better time than me

We both train at Base Fitness and extend our thanks to everyone at the gym for their support and encouragement
.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
Ellen & Tony
