Thanks for visiting our fundraising page
In November last year at just 42 years old Elli's fabulous cousin Mandie was diagnosed with lung cancer. In December she underwent surgery to remove her right lung and has subsequently been told that unfortunately her condition is incurable and she will need treatment for the rest of her life - news that has hit the extremely close family very hard.
Cancer is something that as a team has affected us all whether it be of a family member or close friend.
To help raise awarenesss of this awful disease and help to avoid other people experiencing this devasting news, James and Sally raced the Fountain 42 as seen and heard by many of you last summer in this year's Cancer Research Power Boat Race on Sunday 8th June. Not only did they win, they picked up trophies for 1st over all, 1st in class, 1st RMYC driver and navigator and the team won the trophy for the most money raised...so big thank you for all your donations to date!
To continue the fundraising and add even more to that total for this worthy cause, James and Elli took part in the Round Britain Power Boat Race which started its 10 day gruelling journey from Portsmouth on Saturday 21st June. James raced with Team Goldfish in a 36 P1 Supersport Goldfish RIB (boat 22 LionHead) covering 1600 miles by sea while Elli drove in excess of 2000 miles in the team lorry carrying the teams vital equipment and spares. LionHead and the team proved themselves to be the FASTEST RIB AROUND BRITAIN! Not only did they pick up 1st in their class, they were the fasted rib and were 2nd overall out of 48 other entries!
All we ask of you is to dig deep and however big or small your donation may be, it will be gratefully received.
Many Thanks for visiting our page and thank you to all those who have donated.
