Row from Cambridge to Ely · 14 September 2006

Action for M.E. works to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect people with M.E. experience. Our children's services offer support and information to children and young people with M.E., their families and carers carrying on the vital work of AYME, the Association of Young People with M.E.

Story

On Sunday 17th September eight foolish rowers (and an equally foolish cox) from the X-Press Boat Club are taking part in a 20 mile row from Cambridge to Ely. I'm imagining three hours of pain and suffering. And it'll probably rain.

The crew is:
  * Julian Baakman
  * Phil Cowans
  * Lee Denison
  * Jenny Dye
  * Joe Oldak
  * Vanessa Piercy
  * Caroline Stephenson (cox)
  * Steven Wilson
  * Nathan Wrench

None of us have ever rowed more than about 3 miles in one go before. Nor have we ever rowed together before. In fact several of us have never met. What could possibly go wrong!? (please don't answer that)

But it's all for a really good cause! The Assoclation of Young People with ME.

There are a few bits of information about the event on the Cantabs Web Site.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. The Association of Young People with ME will receive your money quickly and, if you are a UK taxpayer an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
