Safe Child Africa fearlessly protects children in danger, including those accused of witchcraft. For many, only Safe Child Africa will fight to protect them.

Story

City To Surf -  9 August 2009 - Sydney, Australia.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After watching a Four Corners story on ABC last week - I cried. I couldn't sleep. What is happening to the children who are branded "witches" in Nigeria is disgusting and very very sad. These innocent beautiful children are being tortured, abandoned, murdered and left for dead in alot of cases, all in the name of "Christianity".  This should not happen in the world we live in .. 2009!! .. this has to stop.

I am raising funds for the charity Stepping Stones - Nigeria, that saves these children (those who survive!) and shelters them from the atrocities that is occurring in their town. So called "Pastors" have brain washed the adults of Nigeria, into thinking their children are "witches" and to kill the evil spirit inside the child, the child endures absolutely horrendous physical abuse and torture such as being burnt with fire or acid, butchered to death, drowned, having nails driven into their heads, chained and starved and left abandoned on the street!

This is truly heartbreaking and nothing else has moved me so much - these beautiful children must be saved. Your donation will go straight to Stepping Stones so that they can provide these children with medicine, shelter, food, accommodation and most importantly love and attention.

Please take some time to please dig deep and donate now.

Thankyou so much

Em.

UPDATE!!!!!

9 August 2009

I am very pleased to say that the City To Surf was a great success with my finishing time of 89.59 minutes with just over $600 AUD raised - what an awesome day. With 75,000 people running along side me, it really was a test of endurance, patience and passion for me. More like an obstacle course than a race - it was quite an experience indeed. All I kept thinking of was the children back in Nigeria and it kept me going and pushing myself to it my limit! I would do it over and over again for them.

Thank you to everyone that has supported me and my charity Stepping Stones Nigeria!! God Bless YOU.

Love Em xoxox

Now to the next fundraiser! Walkathon - 5th September Coogee Beach to Bronte - Walk for Kids!!!! wohoo!
