I have managed to secure a place to run in the London Marathon on 26th April. As some of you know, I now talk about nothing else! I don't know whether I am more excited or more terrified.

I have chosen to run in aid of a small  Welsh cancer charity called 'Tenovus'. Most of us have experienced cancer in friends or family, and I wanted to offer any funds I could raise through sponsorship to a worthwhile cause in this field. Tenovus supports research, prevention and education, counselling and patient care. It funds teams of leading scientists and clinicians in a number of highly regarded research centres. I hope friends will feel able to chip in some sponsorship, however modest, to benefit this  admirable charity. Such a good cause will certainly motivate me in training, and at that dreaded moment at about 20 miles when I hit "the wall". So please sponsor me.
