Why climb one mountain when you can climb two?

Despite having never trekked at altitude before, I'm not satisfied with flying all the way to Africa to climb its highest mountain, so I thought I would also tackle Tanzania's second highest mountain too while I'm there. 

Over a two week period I will climb to the 4566m summit of Mount Meru and then embark upon the trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro at 5895m. I have self financed the trip so every penny you donate will go to the team's fundraising.

HVMRT provides volunteer search and rescue cover for the southern half of West Yorkshire - with terrain ranging from rugged open moorland and crags to open farmland and more urban areas. 

The team have 2 years to raise enough money to purchase Marsden Fire Station as a permanent Headquarters, so the race is on to reach the total!

HVMRT is entirely funded by contributions from the public and its members - who are all unpaid volunteers - are on-call 24 hours aday, 365 days a year to assist those who get in to difficulties on the moors,as well as helping the other emergency services with missing persons, extreme weather and casualties in hard-to-reach situations.
