Story
Hi all!
Yes once again I am doing yet another challenge all in the name of charity. But, an incredible charity at that- The Epilepsy Society. My father has Epilepsy and so its a very close cause to my heart! 1 in 100 people are diagnosed with Epilepsy every day and not only am I doing it to raise £1500 for them but as part of a huge team. I am leading a team of 36 students from Loughborough University, thus looking to raise in excess of £80,000 for this amazing cause! I head off on the 6th August 2015 for 2 weeks, ready to trek through the Lares Valley!
As most of you are aware, I raised over £2500 for Meningitis without going to Kilimanjaro and so I've worked hard at raising lots of money each year for charity. I have met current representatives from the charity
already and not only will our group be visiting the headquarters, but also the research and assessment centre which we will be helping to fund! Like anything, once you get to know it, the concept grows and becomes so important, and this awe inspiring charity continues to help the lives of those unfortunate enough to develop Epilepsy. It's not just my father either; friends whether they be close or distant, struggle with the neurological
disease and the prevalence of it is far beyond what anybody knows about!
SO please dig deep, however big or small, help me complete this challenge by getting me to my target. If we're going to live in hard times, then atleast we can live in hard times knowing we've done all we can for each other!
I really do appreciate all the continued support for my charity events and I promise after treking through the Lares Valley in Peru and seeing the difference you all make, it will be 100% worth it, whatever you can give!
All my love,
Emily!
