Some of you may remember that a while ago I was fundraising to get enough money together to send a Kenyan child to secondary school. Daniel is a child I met three years ago whilst on a teaching placement in his remote village. 

When Daniel was aged 4, he witnessed the murder of his father which left him traumatised. Since then his mother has struggled to raise him and his little sister in a single room mud hut, barely being able to afford food for the three of them.  In Kenya, there are no state-run secondary schools, and she cannot pay for further education for him. Without secondary school, the likelihood of Daniel earning more than one dollar a day is very slim, and his future looks hopeless. 

Well, almost two years later Daniel has been enrolled and has really succeeded in his school, passing all of his yearly exams with flying colours. I have actually been able to watch him progress month by month and have first-handedly seen the incredible prospects our money has given Daniel.

BUT, the pressure is now on to raise enough money to keep Daniel in school for his remaining two years. I am writing this as a plea for you to dig deep into your pockets, to give any amount you can manage and to show your support to me, and most importantly to Daniel. For those of you who have donated already, I, Daniel and his mother cannot thank you enough. You literally have helped give someone hope, someone who has been through so much heartache and tragedy already.
