Story

It has taken four years for the pain of last time to leave my memory, but I have decided to run the London marathon once again! I am running in aid of a fantastic cause which is close to mine and my family's hearts.

I am raising money for Debbie Fund, a fund within the UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust. Debbie Phillips was a friend of my Mum's from law school who sadly died in February 2010 after a long battle with cervical cancer. Debbie Fund was set up in her memory to fund research into treatment for cervical cancer. Incredibly, this is an area to which no research was specifically dedicated until Debbie Fund was created.

Cervical cancer is the second most common female cancer worldwide, with a five year survival rate in the UK of only 64%. This shows how desperately needed the dedicated research programme which Debbie Fund is funding is.

Any donation, however small, will be incredibly gratefully received and will go towards vital research. Not to mention making the 6am runs in snow, wind, rain and mist all completely worthwhile!
