<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">The Alzheimer’s Society is such an eligible Charity and I am proud to be taking part in their Lake District Four Peaks Challenge this Summer.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to 1 million by 2025.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">The Alzheimer’s Society aims to radically improve the world for people with dementia.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They hope for a world where dementia sufferers have their rights recognised; where they fully contribute to family and community life and where they can live with dignity, free from discrimination.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A world where they and those who care for them have their needs fully met. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The Alzheimer’s Society has a network of over 2,000 services which help over 30,000 people every week, providing a range of practical services for people with dementia and their carers.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Calibri;">Dementia research is desperately underfunded in the UK compared to the impact of the condition.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Alzheimer’s Society is determined to increase the amount of research it does, both directly and through partnerships with others.</span></p>
