Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

The National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) is the UK’s leading charity representing and supporting half a million adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and children and young people with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), through our helpline, information services, research and campaigns.

Story

Just in case anyone did not sponsor me for the marathon or if anyone wants to sponsor me again.... you can for the Great North Run.  I must admit though that the training has not been quite up to scratch and so it will not be the fastest 1/2 ever...but NRAS would be very appreciative if you could spare a few pounds.

NRAS was launched in 2001 by a group of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients (including its present chief executive, Ailsa Bosworth), who saw a need to provide some focus and a voice for people with this misunderstood disease. "Arthritis" covers over 200 conditions.  Nearly half a million people suffer from RA with is the most common of the inflammatory arthritides and it should not be confused with osteoarthritis.  It is a painful, disabling autoimmune disease and has no known cause or cure.

Donation through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you very much for your support.
