The Cardiff Half Marathon · 19 October 2008 ·

We are the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. We fund essential research and provide much needed support, information and advice. We raise awareness and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer. We do all this so those affected can expect better.

Story

I am fundraising for this charity in support of Dad and others who suffer from lung cancer. The Roy Cancer Lung Cancer Foundation is wholly dedicated to defeating lung cancer. The charity was supportive to our family as we campaigned to receive funding for the drug, tarceva, which helped Dad in his fight against this illness.

I had hoped that Dad might watch me cross over the finishing line in Cardiff when I planned to do this run with two of my friends earlier in the year.  Yesterday, 19th October, we ran. It was an amazing day - quite emotional. I think Dad was watching after all.

Any money I raise will help others to be cared for at their most difficult time in life. Thank you so much to all of you who have already made a donation. If anyone else would still like to do so, you can use this justgiving site which is easy and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. St. David's will receive your money faster and if you are a UK tax payer an extra 28% will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

A big thank you for your support.
