Cricket Coaching in Botswana · 10 April 2013

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

Thank you so much for even visiting this page.

It is our third time fundraising and this is probably the most exciting project we have ever been involved in.

The past two fundraising occasions have been very worthwhile, but the money that was donated went to charities that are run by third parties. This time, the money you will give, you will give to us for us to turn into equipment and coaching sessions for hundreds of children in Uganda.

Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB) is a UK cricket development and AIDS awareness charity. It is run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers.

It was firsy formed in 2005 and now operates in over six African countries. It is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket, whilst promoting AIDS prevention.

We will be volunteering for CWB in April by going to Northern Uganda, visiting primary and secondary schools for two weeks. There we will be:

- Coaching cricket to children 10-18 years old

- Coaching local teachers how to set up and maintain cricket clubs (some CWB trained children have now become national players!)

- Doing all this whilst teaching children about the dangers of AIDS and how to protect themselves from this world wide devestating disease.

We will be leaving Heathrow with huge amounts of cricket equipment which we will then donate to the local schools we visit. We will therefore need to raise money for this.

We hope that you can "dig deep" and donate as much as you feel able to. You can do this knowing that every penny you give, goes directly to the children. Virtually nothing is lost in admin or organisational costs.

Thank you,

Emily
