Story

Raising money for schools and conservation projects in Kenya!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and thank you to those of you who helped me to raise money so far.

The latest amount raised through calendar sales will pay for solar panels for Emsos Primary School, so they can power lights and run revision classes in the evenings. This will help students to get the grades they need to progress to secondary school.

Some of the money will also be donated to Wildlife Clubs of Kenya, a charity which visits schools in remote areas in Kenya to show films about wildlife and conservation. They aim to raise awareness of environmental issues so children grow up with knowledge of how to conserve their environment for future generations.

Other money raised went to sponsor students from Lake Bogoria to continue their education. It allowed Ezekiel Chebii to complete a college course in Wildlife Management and Alex Kules study Tourism Management, Alex has plans to set up an ecotourism project once his course is completed.

Ezekiel and Alex were very keen to learn and gain a qualification which will allow them to work their way out of poverty. They will now take the knowledge and skills they have learnt back to Lake Bogoria's surrounding communities.

There are still many other worthy causes in the area so please donate generously. Next I aim to raise money to sponsor some girls to study at college as well as continuing to support schools and conservation projects in the area.

The money raised through this website will go through the University of Leicester RAG. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
