Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Hi this is Emma Holland and Jodie Howarth!

We are both running the London 2012 Marathon for the Teenage Cancer Trust, in memory of Sam Irvin and in celebration of Matty York.

Sam Irvin was diagnosed with terminal oesophagus cancer in March 2010 at age 19, with close friend Matty York diagnosed with hogkin's lymphoma later the same year aged 21. After unfortunatley seeing the horrors of cancer strike those closest to us at such young ages, we have seen how the hard work from the Teenage Cancer Trust plays a positive role in the darkest of times for young people.

Sam did everything possible before his death to thank the Teenage Cancer Trust for everything they had done for him. By running the marathon next spring, we hope to further Sam's hard work and carry on his legacy, whilist helping all those left fighting along the way for a positive outcome such as Matty's.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Desperados! x
