As many of you will know I have had an extremely difficult time recently. Something I have found helpful is to train for silly challenges!

I completed the Berlin marathon in October 2008 as a personal challenge and now aim to put some of my energies to good use and hopefully raise some money for a very worthy cause. I am running the London marathon in April 2009 and cycling from Lands End to John O Groats (some 1000 miles) in July 2009. I am raising money for kidney research. It is a charity close to heart because my mum's brother is back on dialysis following the failure of his first kidney transplant and my mum is currently undergoing tests in the hope that she will be a suitable donor for her brother.
