For Life Thailand brings care, equality and opportunity to disabled children in Thailand. We support day-care centres, family-based care, physiotherapy and the rehabilitation of children from institutions back into communities. Our goal is to support children, families and communities in Thailand.

Story

Thankyou for taking the time to help this amazing cause

What is it all about?

I will be travelling to Thailand in August - September 2009 to Pakkred which is just outside Bangkok. Here, a team of us will be helping with looking after young disabled orphans in associationn with 4Life. 4life are the English connection to the Thai based Project CCD. CCD are a charity that help care for disabled orphans. They help these orphans in a number of ways – Through adoption schemes, hospital care, education, rehabilitation, and reuniting orphans with their families and helping keep these families together, as well as providing support to the families of children with disabilities.  They have rooms based at 3 orphanages in Pakkred as well as their own site ‘Rainbow House’ where children and young adults are brought to take part in activities.

Volunteers are based in either

- Rachawadee Boys home (8 yrs +)

 - Rachawadee Girls home (8 yrs +)

 - Fung Fah (“Babies” home 0-8yrs)

or

 - Rainbow house  - Rainbow house has the best facilities of the 4. This is where the more able children are cared for. It is these children that are most likely to get adopted.

The disabilities

The orphans suffer from a range of disabilities, but most commonly cerebral palsy or other disorders that affect a person’s physical movement. Other disabilities are downs syndrome, deafness, blindness, mental disabilities such as Attention Deficit Disorder. The level of disability can also completely vary.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: For Life gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

The money you donate will go forth to provide:

Physiotherapists, which are so important for the comfort, mobility and rehabilitation of the orphans.

Weekend Trips to the Zoo, Aquarium, Cinema and places that the orphans could never dream of going without the help and funds of volunteers and the charity.

Paying for the employment of more staff and more equipment, toys, and games.

The rehabilitation project, that works on reuniting families and helping to support those families after.

So please sponsor me, I really appreciate it...
