Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I have decided to take up the challenge and run the London Marathon in April this year in aid of a charity called Mind. This charity supports people with Mental Health problems (www.mind.org.uk) and I am taking on this challenge in memory of a close friend whom I used to run with, who suffered from mental illness and is tragically no longer with us. By raising money for Mind I hope I can help them support others who are going through the torment and difficulties experienced by my friend.
Mind works to provide a range of services to enable people with varying degrees of mental distress to have a better quality of life. Mind provides information and support to around 20 000 people each year regarding mental health issues. Depression alone affects at least 1 in 5 of us at some point in our lives with nearly 3 million people suffering at any one time.
