Story
Dear Friends
Thank you for all of the support you gave to us both in the build up to the Great North Run. It meant a lot to us.
We did it! Oliver zoomed off just after the Tyne Bridge, saying to Emma, "Your pace is too slow Ems, it's killing me!" and off he sped into a sea of runners, caterpillar costumes, pink fairies and furry bears. Emma jogged on, with stitch, and this was only at the 3-mile stage!
Oliver completed the run in 2 hours 3 minutes – pretty fast for someone who had not even ran for a bus six months ago! Emma in 2 hours and 20 minutes - a ‘comfortable’ 13 mile jog!
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute – even the Geordie children who squirt their garden hoses in your face! And especially the old ladies who hand out digestive biscuits and tea! But most of all, crossing the finish line is the BEST feeling of all!
Emma is now in training for the London Marathon (the thought of doing 13.1 miles TWICE in one go is just too challenging not to be pursued!), and Oliver has joined a local football team the ‘Chester Nomads’. He got picked for the first team last week.
Onward and forward, and THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US.
