Our long awaited first child, Zack, was sadly born asleep on 5th September 2008 at full term.  He was perfect in every way, he weighed 6lb 5oz and looked the image of his daddy.  Unfortunately during labour he got distressed and inhaled too much meconium which filled his lungs and as a result he was unable to take his first breath. 

We spent 3 days in the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit at the Royal Preston Hospital where the care and support we recieved from the midwives, consultants and all staff was amazing. It helped us through the toughest days of our lives while we came to terms with what had happened.
