My mum was diagnosed with cancer on 8th June 2009. My race for life will be exactly 5 years since her diagnosis. I'm so relieved to say she has beaten it! But many don't. 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer, what a scary thought... events such as race for life raise fabulous amounts of money and awareness too.
