Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This is a quick and easy way to sponsor me safely, online.
I am an ex-cancer patient and an active fundraiser for Christie Hospital. I have taken part in various events to raise funds, like the yearly bike ride from Manchester to Blackpool, the Great Manchester Bupa 10K Run. In 2006 I successfully completed the seventeen day trek from Kathmandu in Nepal to Everest Base Camp reaching a height of over 19,000ft.
So far I have raised nearly £20.000 to help fund treatment, but as we all know the Christie rely on donations hence in December 2009 I am setting off on a challenge of a lifetime to summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Kilimanjaro is the world's largest free-standing Mountain and it’s peak stands at 19,340ft.
I will be camping on the mountain for ten days and will be exposed to harsh temperatures and altitude.
I have chosen to raise more vital funds for the Christie Hospital in Manchester and on this challenge need to raise £10,000. As one of the many surviving patients I know at first hand the agonising effects this disease has on both patient and loved ones. With your support, I know we can help find a cure or at least buy more time for sufferers.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christie's against Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now and help make a difference!
Many thanks for your support,
Emmanuel.
