Emmaus Hampshire is not just another homelessness charity! Far from just providing a safe place to stay, the Emmaus Hampshire "live/work" Community will provide Companions (as residents are known) with a home and with opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends. In return Companions will agree to sign off benefits and commit to a 40-hour working week within the Community. Emmaus Hampshire will also provide the wider community with an invaluable resource - a place to come to donate and buy quality second-hand goods; a place to chat with friends and Companions over a cup of coffee; a place to learn more about environmentally-friendly living ... and, of course, a place where they can feel that they are really making a difference!

My story

Thanks for visiting my (rather last minute!) fundraising page...

I'm doing the Hot Mountain Bike Challenge in Hampshire- an off road cycle of 50km. I'm doing this to raise money for Emmaus Hampshire.

Emmaus is an international secular organisation of self sufficient communities for the previously homeless. Their self sufficiency is based upon the recycling and selling on of goods. There are currently 306 communities worldwide and they do invaluable work in the local communities they are based in.
