Story

Welcome to my fundraising page

For those of you who don't know me, my name's Emma, I'm 25 and currently in application to join the British Army.

I have never been the most physically fit, but whilst researching a job in the Army I have worked hard to get my physical fitness levels up, and in that time I have read and seen many stories of our injured soldiers battling their way back to fitness which I find majorly inspiring.

This is why I have decided to join the Help for heroes Big Battlefield Bike Ride 2010, this is going to be the biggest challenge of my life both physically and mentally. I am aiming to raise at least £4000 for this fantastic charity to give them the opportunity to offer more help and hope to our brave injured soldiers.

"It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes." "It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. Please dig deep and give anything you can to help our heroes!
