Make-A-Wish UK is part of a global movement that exists to make life-changing wishes come true for the thousands of critically ill children across the UK. The power of a wish allows families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.

Story

The 'Bristol Four', with Wilko Snr & Paisley Snr in close support, have taken time away from their hectic social diaries to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of the 'Make-A-Wish Foundation'. With little cycling experience, the challenge of covering an average of 135 miles each day over the seven-day tour is daunting.

Our first serious training run took us from Bristol to Farnham and back, a total of 200 miles. The weekend in question was the hottest on record this year, and despite numerous setbacks (Paisley - a true sun-hater due to his traditional 'Shire' roots; Wilko - losing the sensation to the majority of his extremities; Charlie - a strange reaction to a cocktail of Ibuprofen, Haribo & cashew nuts; Steve - a general lack of awareness for his personal safety), we persevered.

The 'Make-A-Wish Foundation' (www.make-a-wish.org.uk) grants wishes to children, between the ages of 13 to 18, with life-threatening illnesses. By kindly sponsoring our efforts, not only will you have the satisfaction of knowing we will be in immense pain (for the masochists amongst you), but more importantly that you will be changing the lives of many children.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to provide sponsorship - the 'Make-A-Wish Foundation' will receive your money faster, and if you are a UK taxpayer an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
