I am fortunate enough to be celebrating my 60th year in good health.

But this last year has been a journey to hell and back for my longstanding friend Simon, who has suffered from the devastating disease of the blood Aplastic Anaemia.  He has undergone some drastic treatment which turned his own, and his family's life, upside down.

In Cornwall, where Simon lives, there have only been two known previous cases.  It was essential that Simon's GP and consultant could be in continual contact with the specialist treatment centre at St George's Hospital which is supported by the Aplastic Anaemia Trust.

The AAT funds research into the causes and treatment of Aplastic Anaemia, and provides information and support for sufferers (see www.theaat.org.uk).

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Aplastic Anaemia Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
