We’ve been supporting Shelter since 2001, with the joint ambition to ensure everyone has a place they can call home
Nationwide colleagues and members have raised over £5 million to improve the lives of people in housing need and helped over 82,000 people into a home of their own.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through advice, support & legal services. It campaigns to ensure that, one day, no one will have to turn to them for help
As a Society, we help in funding Shelter’s Helpline; answering calls from people with nowhere to sleep, at risk of losing their home, or living is unsafe housing.
We also work with Shelter to address systemic causes of homelessness, funding a position in Shelter’s Policy team, whilst a Shelter representative sits on the Nationwide Private Rental Sector Board.
5% of all our fundraising for Shelter goes to Shelter Cymru in Wales and 5% of all our fundraising for Shelter goes to Housing Rights in Northern Ireland
