Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On behalf of the Ancient & Noble Order of the Knights Templar, this September I am planning to follow an old pilgrims' trek across north-west Spain, finishing at Santiago de Compostella.  My aim is to raise much-needed funds for Sense International.  Sense is a global leader in the provision of services for deafblind pople, currently working in Bangladesh, East Africa, India, Latin America and Romania.

Deafblind people face huge challenges in everyday life.  The simplest things a sighted, hearing person takes for granted can becoe a significant barrier for someone with deafblindness. A lack of specialised healthcare in developing countries and no social welfare amplifies the problem.  Children are frequently neglected, abandoned and institutionalised, left without any real support.  Sense Internaional aims to do something about this.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sense International gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
