Story
Hello everyone!
Firstly, thank you very much for visiting our page, we hope you like what you see!
For a very long time now, members of the St George's Hospital Boat Club have wanted to do something that is not only a personal challenge but something that can raise a lot of money for charity. This has resulted in the decision to row the length of the Thames.
Starting the 16th August 2012, we will have two crews of four, rowing the 140 mile journey from Lechlade, Gloucestershire all the way down to Putney, London. The journey will take us five solid days and we will finish on the 20th August 2012.
In the meantime we will be training hard and will be holding a series of erg relays. This will include at least one 24 hour relay within St George's Hospital and the medical school in April/May, as well as a series of 6-9 hour relays in a number of locations around the local area (Tooting and beyond).
21st April - 10 am til 6pm - Putney Embankment.
28th April - 11am til 5pm - Merton Supersaver
29th April - 11am til 5pm - Southside shopping centre
14th/15th May - Midday til midday - St George's Hospital Foyer
The length of the row will be undertaken by the crews below but the boat club in its entirety (hopefully as many as 50 people!) will be involved in the event as a whole.
Coxes: Joanna Howell and Jamie Forrester
Rowers: Dean Ella, Ashley Tomlinson, Jake Moss, Joe Bridgeman, Matt Hughes, Seb Locke, Joe Wood and Luke Turner.
We are extremely excited for this adventure and all funds raised will be going straight to the Hospital where we train as medical students, so it is for a great cause.
Thank you very much,
Please donate :)
