Our personal message:

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

My Dad had Alzheimer's Disease for the last few years of his life. It's a horrible thing - for the person afflicted and for those who love them.

The Alzheimer's Society helps families like ours cope with the horror of the disease - which is affecting more and more people.  I'm hoping you'll feel able to donate money to the Alzheimer's Society, and to encourage you to part with your hard-earned cash, I'm taking on three running events which are already pushing me to my physical limits:

- The Snowdon Mountain Race, on 26 July, saw me run 5 miles up and then 5 miles down Snowdon in 1 hour 55 mins - not too bad given the very warm weather.

- The Snowdonia Marathon will never be forgotten - gale force winds and torrential rain meant that the run on 25 October was more about survival than enjoying the scenery. I ran the 26.2 miles round Snowdon in 4 hours 17 minutes.

Hellrunner on 2 November was a 2 hours 4 minutes slog through round muddy forest trails and through waist-deep bogs - one of which almost claimed my left leg! But it was great - as I wrote on my running vest - 'This is fun! Alzheimer's is HELL!'.

So three tough runs in three months. Definitely hard going, but nothing like as bad as seeing someone you love succumb to the horror that is Alzheimer's Disease.

If you've got this far, I hope you'll want to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society - but before you do, please read this official Justgiving stuff:

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

That's it - all over!

Thanks again and best wishes,

Eric
