The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

In September this year, we will be trekking and camping in the mountains in Peru, ending up at Machu Picchu... that's almost 30 hours trekking over 4 days reaching heights of 4400m.    We're continuing to support our chosen charity, the National Literacy Trust  http://www.nationalliteracytrust.org.uk/, supporting disadvantaged children to read, providing free books, and supporting teachers, librarians and male role models to promote literacy skills.

We know there is a credit crunch on, so to thank you for any donation we would like give you something back.  Please let us know your favourite book when you donate, and we will send everyone the complete list of our friends' literary recommendations.  To get you started, our favourites are Richard Branson's autobiography 'Losing my Virginity' (Sam) and 'The Time Traveller's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger (Erica).

As an extra thank you, because of our colossal fundraising target, we will randomly select two sponsors who have donated £25 or more to receive a £25 Amazon voucher as a gift from us - maybe to buy some of our recommended reading!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: National Literacy Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!  Thank you!

We'd like to thank our corporate sponsor, Vivo Miles - www.vivomiles.com.  Thank you also to The Westminster Foundation who have offered to match £1000 sponsorship.  Please note that all trip costs are being covered by us, so your sponsorship goes directly to the Trust.
