ERIC'S COASTAL KAYAK AROUND BRITAIN
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I will be setting off on 6 June 2009 at 09:30am from the RNLI Boathouse between Central and North Pier Blackpool. I would really appreciate it if you could come down and wave me off!
I served with the Army for 22 years in The 1st Battalion The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (now the 3 Yorks) and my son is currently serving with the Parachute Regiment and has recently returned from a 6 month tour of Afghanistan. It was while I watched my son and his collegues receive their medals, I decided I wanted to do something to help the servicemen who had received life changing injuries during recent conflicts.
I plan to canoe around the coast of Britain in aid of the charity 'Help for Heroes' who do fantastic work for wounded service personnel. I will be starting on 6 June 2009 from Blackpool Tower travelling clockwise around the coast of Britain and will be returning to Blackpool Tower mid-August. (hopefully!!) Any sea kayaking club (military or civilian) who would like to join me for any part of the route would be very welcome.
