Story

I'm running the 2012 London Marathon to help raise support and awareness of the work of Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Gaza, the West Bank and many parts of Palestine are among the most volatile regions in the world, yet the majority of Palestinians don't have ready access to the emergency treatment they need. Ambulances can take hours to arrive as a result of road blocks, if they ever even get to their destination. Over 60% of Palestinian refugee children are anaemic and many die from easily treatable conditions. This documentary by MAP potrays the dire situation many Palestinians find themselves in.

Set up in the aftermath of the 1982 Sabra and Shatila Massacre of Palastinian refugees, MAP work in these areas to provide medical care, advice and treatment, free of charge, to those in need. Your donations can go a long way to saving an imeasurable number of Palestinian lives.

£25 could help pay for supplies or train frontline staff in resuscitation techniques

£50 can train medical staff to give emergency treatment in remote regions

£75 could train a senior health-care worker to help continue the work of MAP

Please help me in my challenge to run 26.2 miles and to support the work of this incredible charity, who's humanitarian services for the Palestinian people are hugely needed.
