My story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
Why "Headway Surrey"?
A short time after his retirement, when Dad (Ernie) and Mum (Eileen) were looking forward to enjoying their time together, in April 1988 Dad was knocked down by a car on the pedestrian crossing in Selsdon. After many months in hospital and rehabilitation, we accepted the realisation that Dad's head injuries were permanent and that he would never be "quite" the same person again.
Dad had always 'taken care of things'.......but now things had changed and Mum, with my help, had to adjust to the fact that Dad needed looking after and would no longer be the strong, confident person that he once was. Fortunately however, Dad's injuries left him a happy, cheerful person as many of you know.
We were contacted by Headway, who offered their support and comfort at this very difficult time. The help they offer is priceless and it is for this reason that we would like to 'give something back' and help them.......to enable them to continue to help others.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way. Headway Surrey Head Injuries Association Ltd gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. New feature: if you like "eBay", you can now make a donation via your Paypal account!
Thank you so much for your support.....Dad (Ernie) would be very pleased.
