Story

Wasup!?

I am currently training to run the London Marathon April 2010, as part of the NSPCC TeamGo. I’m mad excited about joining the NSPCC TeamGo, to take part in the biggest and best marathon in the world! (Yeh, that’s right – I said it!!).

Alongside the rest of the TeamGo runners, if we each were to raise £2,000, in total we would raise an amazing £1 million for the NSPCC child’s voice appeal. Which will help the NSPCC to answer more children’s calls, help more worried adults, and change more children’s lives! Together we can end cruelty to children.

Every single penny we raise will help children and young people who so desperately need someone to turn to.

Just to give you an idea of how much your conscience should nudge you to sponsor me and what the money is being used towards!

- £4 could answer a child’s call to ChildLine.

- £20 can buy dolls used in play therapy, allowing children to express their emotions and act out their experiences of abuse –deep!

- £2,000 could cover the cost of all calls to one ChildLine counsellor for four and a half years.

I have a target of £2,000 to raise! So far I’ve managed to raise £300...that’s almost half way to my £2000 target!! :-)...almost.

So then . . . “Why run a Marathon?” 26.2 miles is a long way, and apparently, my feet will slam into the hard road around 26,000 times each, resulting in sore feet, hurting the ankles, legs and knees.

So again, Why run a Marathon? Its all for the kids baby!

But another part of me wants to run the marathon because it’s a challenge! Furthermore, partaking as a part of the NSPCC TeamGo will afford me the great opportunity to fundraise and do more for this great cause.

Thank you for sponsoring me.
