We did it!! Check out the photos to see how things went.

Weather was awful but Esmee stayed snug and warm. The same can't be said for the rest of us :-)

Thanks to my support team - as well as my wife Lorraine and our son Louis, we had Esmee's aunt Yvette and her daughter Phoebe with us. The children (8 and 9 years old) were amazing - they did so well in horrible conditions. We also had Nellie, Freddie and Rosie, the spaniels with us.

Thanks too to the couple we met who made a donation there and then on the fell.

Thanks so much for all the on-line donations so far - I really have been bowled over by your support and generosity.

========================================================================================

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm doing a Mountain Buggy push (up an actual mountain!) to raise some money for Sense.

http://www.sense.org.uk/

Esmée and her dad (that's me, Tim) are going to be climbing to the summit of Skiddaw (3,053ft), a well known and rather handsome peak in the English Lake District.

We'll be doing our climb one day during the last two weeks of August 2009 - the exact date will depend on the weather!

Esmée is four and a half years old and has an undiagnosed neurological disorder that causes her to spend long periods in a very deep sleep. She has very low body tone meaning that she is unable to sit up and is only able to make the slightest of voluntary movements, so she'll be making the ascent in the comfort of her wonderful Mountain Buggy.

Her condition also means that she is cognitively blind and although she can hear sounds we don't think she can process them to make sense of what she hears. She attends the Woodside Family Centre run by Sense in Kingswood, Bristol. They help Esmée to develop her communication skills and they help us to interpret her responses. Woodside also provide home support and Helen's weekly visits are enjoyed by all the family, not just Esmée!

Esmée enjoys the sun on her face and the wind in her hair so country walks are always a thrill for her. Hopefully, with your generosity, our climb to the top of Skiddaw will help to raise a tidy sum for Sense who provide such valuable support to deafblind people of all ages.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Sense - National Deafblind and Rubella Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us if you can!

Many, many thanks.

Esmée and Tim
