Dragon Boat Games Update- what a fantastic day!
29 teams, family, friends and lots of supporters had a great day despite the weather with lots of exciting races and a very, very close final. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part and helped to make the day such a success.
Along with my family, and lots and lots of friends and kind supporters, I'm determined to do everything I can to help people with blood cancers, especially young people like our younger son, Tim, at the start of their lives. So, we're raising money to fund live-saving research.
2012 is the year of the Olympics in Britain and we've decided to hold our second dragon boat event - the Essex Dragon Boat Games. It's taking place on Sunday 8th July on the river Chelmer in the middle of Chelmsford, as part of the Olympic torch celebrations. We're going to build on the success of our 2010 World Cup event and 32 teams with compete, each adopting a sport from the games. There'll be a race every 10 minutes from 10am to 5pm, entertainment for young and old, live music and lots more to see and do. A fun day for all the family, competitors and spectators alike.
Please, please make a donation, every penny counts and is another step forward in a battle we WILL win, to BEAT BLOOD CANCERS.
THANK YOU
