Story
Ethans Peaks is an event that we launched in 2012 in memory of a little boy that touched us all. Ethan Thomas Pickersgill. Lots of fund raisers attempted the Yorkshire three peaks in July 2012 which everyone completed.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The walk is approximately 25 miles and is a very dificult challenge to complete. Ethan's dad Jimmy also completed the challenge and we have added a quote from the family below.
On 17th October 2011 our world was changed forever when aged 7 months and 3 days, our "little man" Ethan Thomas Died.
Ethan had a very rare, undetectable heart tumour called a cardio fibroma, this shows no symptoms and was not found till after he died. He was a very happy little boy who, touched the hearts of many including those at 4Louis.
The charity created the Ethan's Peaks challenge in his memory, which was completed July 2012 with hopefully more to follow. As a Thank you our family have been fundraising to support the charity with their work in helping other bereaved families.
