In September, we will be trekking the Italian and Sicilian volcaoes to raise as much money as possible for the Over The Wall.
The youngsters who attend this camp gain in confidence and independence. They make friends and draw strength from others facing similar challenges. But, above all, they have tremendous fun. The camp relies completely on charitable donations, which enable them to provide free places.
We pledged to raise a minimum of £4,000 and, consequently, have our begging bowl out, asking everyone to dig deep into their pockets.
Our friend Ian is running in the British 10k London run Sunday July 3rd. All the sponsorship he raises is going to OTW. You can check out information about the run at www.british10londonrun.co.uk
So far this year, we have held 5 themed Quiz Evenings with raffles, which have raised a total of £976:00. Thanks to: Ross and Gareth, our quizmasters and question-writers; Mandi and Sarah, our cooks; Shirley, our enumerator; Nick and Pat, our chaffeur/porters; Colin and Melanie, our raffle-ticket seller/folders; St. Luke's, Tunbridge Wells, for the loan of the church hall; and everyone else who has helped out. We held a summer barbecue and snail race evening in August raising £380:70 We have received £765:00 in offline donations and sponsorship. We have more quiz evenings planned and Melanie is hosting a barn dance in November. Both we and the Over The Wall really appreciate your donations and support. Thank you very much! Julie & Trevor
