Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
This is almost a first for me; the last time I did a sponsored run was over 20 yrs ago as a lazy, overweight student. This time I actually intend to run the distance so please support me. I am doing this for the Amber Foundation beacuse I am moved by what they do. They help young people who have taken a wrong turning for whatever reason and are probably looking at a wasted life ahead. Amber put them up in one of their centres where they get the confidence and skills to start living in society and with purpose again. It can’t be an easy thing to do, yet they’re very good at it.
I certainly couldn’t do it: but I can attempt to run a 10K loop round London. So this is me with my new trainers and my faithful personal trainer, Otto. He’s promised me that he’ll stick with me for the first couple of weeks whilst the weather is cold and I’m still rubbish at running, after which he’ll take on an advisory role because he doesn’t fancy switching the fur coat for those funny tight shorts Paula Radcliffe wears.
The sponsorship target is £500 because the entry fee to the event is high and has been put up by Amber. If I swear to do the distance, can you help me achieve this target?
I can’t promise to finish the race necessarily with much dignity (rather hoping crawling is permitted towards the end), but I’d really like to promise Amber a useful amount for the excellent contribution they make to our society. Please, please be generous.
Yours
Eunice
