Denise Evans & Liz Crathern welcome you to their fund raising page :-)

Denise and Liz would greatly appreciate your support in contributing to their fundraising activities for their trip to Uganda where they wish to share their knowledge, skills and expertise.  Denise and Liz have a strong belief that nurses and midwives worldwide have a moral obligation to learn from each other.

Denise and Liz visited Uganda last year where they developed a programme of education for the students, which they feel was very successful. For more information read article "Delivering a neonatal and child health teaching programme in sub-Saharan Africa" volume 5 issue 1 Infant Journal.

They wish to continue their work with the school and hospital, with a belief that it is not good enough just training the students, to really make an impact and change practice you need to support and  train the teachers and hospital staff. One of our key aims with funds raised will be  to improve the facilities within the hospital and clinic including the facilities for premature babies which is close to Denise and Liz's hearts.

To continue their voluntary work Denise and Liz would welcome sponsorship and are returning to Africa alongside a team of 12 health care professionals on the18th of April until the 3rd of May 2009. This will be Denise's second trip and Liz's third trip to Rukungiri , Uganda.
