Coping with a life-limiting illness is difficult for individuals affected and their families. Feelings can change from day to day, hour to hour and even minute to minute. It can feel like the longest, loneliest and most difficult journey imaginable; like trying to climb the highest mountain alone.

People affected and those close experience changes in family roles and relationships. At times you may not really believe you have a life-limiting illness and have a strong sense of hope for the future but then there are moments when you ride a tide of other feelings such as denial, anger, fear, depression and even guilt.

Marie Curie Cancer Care plays an important role in providing vital support to those with a life-limiting and their families particularly through the dark and difficult days and nights that are often faced. The Marie Curie Nursing Service is an invaluable service which helps to lessen the impact of the difficult journeys faced.
