EVEREST PIXEL DREAM IN AID OF THE ESTHER BENJAMINS TRUST
Internet advertising is evolving. A new kind of advertising based on images rather than texts, called pixel advertising, is the latest craze to sweep the net. In March 2006 my own twist on this went live, www.everestpixeldream.com offering pixel advertising space 'with a difference'.
The aim of the Everest Pixel Dream site is; to try and raise £5,250 each for three Children's Charities; Save the Children Dreams Come True and the Esther Benjamins Trust. I will hopefully be participating in a climb of Mount Everest in 2007. This is my dream, and I hope to live it through the Everest Pixel Dream website.
This site has been set up to allow me to reach my target of raising £5,250 for The Esther Benjamins Trust. If you would like to advertise on Everest Pixel Dream, then please make a donation here through this site and email me on ellis@everest-pixel-dream.com once you have done this. Just £4 will mean you will become one of my official sponsors and you will own a square on the pixel mountain.
The minimum purchase to get a metre on the side of Everest is £4.00. Please see the website for full details: www.everest-pixel-dream.com
THE ESTHER BENJAMINS TRUST
The Esther Benjamins Trust was established in 1999 by Lt Col Philip Holmes in memory of his first wife Esther Benjamins. Esther took her own life in January that year because of childlessness. Philip's response was to resign from a successful career as an Army officer and establish a children's charity in Esther's name. This was not just as a memorial for at the time of Esther's death she was a Judge whose admirable qualities combined a sense of justice for the neglected and oppressed with a deep love for children. It is these values that are perpetuating through the work of the Trust that bears her name.
Since its inception The Esther Benjamins Trust (EBT) has grown rapidly to become the leading registered charity that works exclusively for Nepalese children and young people who are most marginalised and discriminated against by society. The trust works exclsuively in Nepal on projects that help these young children.
Initially its project work was conducted by a local partner organisation In Nepal, the Nepal Child Welfare Foundation (NCWF) based in Bhairahawa, southwest Nepal. The NCWF now has satellite offices in Kathmandu, Hetauda and Biratnagar. This rapid project expansion led to EBT forming a new International Non Governmental Organisation, EBT(N), in July 2004. Philip Holmes and his wife Beverley Waymark moved to live in Bhairahawa shortly afterwards in order to set up and run EBT(N), a move that would allow them to enjoy an even closer working relationship with their Nepalese friends and colleagues.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Esther Benjamins Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me.
Many thanks for your support.
