So many people's lives have been touched by Cancer; one in three people will get cancer and someone is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes in the UK. When you or a loved one are diagnosed with the disease it's a very frightening and upsetting time but there are some amazing professionals who do all they can to care for, support and treat patients and their families. The Royal Marsden hospital treats over 40,000 people every year. It is an amazing place that gives people hope, care and very often more life.

There is a good reason why fitnaturally chose the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Sally, director of fitnaturally, and her family watched the Marsden treat and care for their mum who died at a young age as a result of ovarian cancer.

Sally says:

Whilst they couldn’t save Mum because she came to them after several failed attempts at treatment elsewhere, the compassion and care they gave her were second to none. The Marsden stood out as a place of excellence, professionalism and genuine concern for its patients. Visits to the Marsden were always a humbling experience, seeing the range of people treated there and the calm that surrounded it all. We were made to feel so welcome at all times and mum seemed happier there than she had been in any other medical institution. I was only a teenager at the time but looking back I now realise what a very special place it was and how lucky we were to have them look after our precious mum in the last days and weeks of her life.
