The Fairbridge Programme, part of The Prince's Trust, is located in 15 of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK, working in partnership with local communities to provide cost-effective solutions to issues such as truancy, crime and unemployment.

Story

6,000 miles, dangerously wild African terrain and a one 1 litre engine Polo. Yes, in July we are undertaking the massive challenge that is the Africa Rally!

Driving from London to Cameroon in a 1989 VW Polo for one month we will see huge amounts of desert, some of the wildest jungles in the world and will have to endure extreme heat. This will include continual breakdowns, many arguments, problematic border crossings and hopefully as little danger as possible. However, what is known is it is impossible to prepare ourselves for what we are going to experience.

Please help us to make this possible. We would like to raise £15,000 in order to support three underprivileged young people through the Fairbridge Programme – young, disadvantaged people living in some of the most deprived areas of the UK, who need support and positive activities to give them the vital skills, confidence and motivation to re-engage them with society.

We would be very grateful for any help you felt able to give us. Perhaps your company might be prepared to sponsor us in return for a sticker on the car, or perhaps you would like your own name on/in it. Please email Will with any suggestions on willgayner@googlemail.com

Thank you for your support – for making this extreme challenge possible and giving hope to those young people that really do need it.
