Great wall of China Marathon · 13 March 2009

It raises hope by raising money to help the blind & partially sighted children of the Joseph Clarke Special School in Highams Park London E4 9PP.

Story

On Saturday 16th May 2009, ten members of FALCON, an armoured squadron from the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment based in Tidworth, will run the Great Wall of China Marathon.  In addition to the normal twenty-six miles of a marathon, the race, which is reputed to be one of the toughest in the world, includes some five thousand one hundred and sixty four steps of the Great Wall.  It promises to be an incredibly demanding event that will test every ounce of the team's mental and physical endurance.

All members of the team have agreed to channel their fundraising towards one charity, the Joseph Clarke School for the Visually Impaired.  We chose this small charity because our team believes that if we work hard in our fundraising efforts, we can make a very real difference to the children at this amazing school.  We hope you agree with us.
