The Boxing Day Dip (aka , how to freeze your ***** off at Christmas!)

You may know that I lost a close member of family to cancer earlier this year, the support provided by the hospice was fantastic and I remain in complete admiration for the work they do. And I would like to give something back.

You may also know that a large part of my family reside in the North East, therefore to many of them I am the Southern Softie. To completely disprove this theory, and hopefully raise some much needed money for the hospice, I am entering the Hartlepool Boxing Day Dip!

Some facts -

1) The North Sea is freezing even at the height of summer

2) It is even colder in December

3) Everything in Hartlepool is cold in December (and August!)

4) It is mandatory to go 'all the way under' and swim back to shore

5) I do not look good in a pair of speedos and hence will be dressed as Shaggy from Scooby Doo. I have recruited Daphne (that's Bren, my wife) and possibly a Fred, so still a vacancy for Thelma and Scooby Doo and the quest continues??
