Breast Cancer Campaign - Pedal it Pink - Nottingham · 17 October 2010 ·

Women are still getting breast cancer and dying from it. That’s why Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer have joined forces to become the UK’s largest dedicated breast cancer research charity. And with your help, together we can put an end to breast cancer, once and for all.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am starting this challenge very overweight, seriously unfit and without a bike to call my own. But this is such a good cause I couldn't pass up the challenge.

Breast cancer has affected a number of members of my family and this has given me the motivation to get myself fit enough to participate (and hopefully complete?!) the Pedal It Pink 26 mile Bike Marathon on October 17th.

This is a huge challenge for me so please sponsor me and you will be helping to fund research into this terrible disease.

SAD BUT TRUE: 46,000 people are diagnosed a year with breast cancer around 45,500 women and around 300 men, each year 12,500 women and 75 men have died from breast cancer.

But the numbers of deaths have dropped and continue to drop thanks to the work and research of organisations like the breast cancer campaign so please please keep those donations coming big or small... it does make a difference

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. So please dig deep and donate now.

Quick Update:

Nearly there - I started this challenge in July, very overweight and seriously unfit

12 weeks later, I'm still overweight, but I'm now a fitter fatty!

It's been 12 long, hard weeks but it's almost time - Sunday is D-DAY
