I weighed myself a few months ago and was truly astonished at just how large the numbers were on the funny little screen thing - so I'm running a half-marathon at the end of September as my annual fatboy sporting event.

Please support me in my cause - it is 21k after all and it will no doubt hurt, a lot. No I have no specific time target, I am just desperate to finish it in one piece and as near to 2 hours as possible.

I have chosen to raise funds this year for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in honour of Pete Hartley (John's dad) - a genuine gent and all-round Yorkshire rugby legend who sadly passed away in the Spring.
